Abstract
This paper provides an overview of the status and future development of renewable power in Brazil. The paper describes the development and planning of renewables in Brazil, including medium and long-term development and planning goals, characteristics of renewable energy in Brazil, government rules and regulations, tariffs and tax incentives. Specific numbers are given with regards to nationwide installed renewable power capacity and energy production.
