Abstract :
In this paper an original measurement procedure is proposed to identify the spatial coordinates of broadband sound sources present in a given space. The method yields a visual image of the source distribution. This image is based on statistical source probabilities, derived from a small number of correlation functions. The correlation functions are measured between the microphones of a synthetic circular array. Point sources as well as distributed sources can be localised. The method has been verified by simulations and measurements
