Abstract :
The paper discusses the mathematical formulation and the parameter extraction mechanism for a new largesignal MESFET model suitable for application in nonlinear CAD. All nonlinear components of the equivalent circuit are related to the state variables by simple closed-form equations which can provide an excellent fit to the measured performance over the entire range of bias points of interest. Well-defined and numerically stable estimates of the model parameters are obtained by a straightforward step-by-step procedure.
