Abstract
By present, ultrawideband (UWB) radiation sources with megavolt efficient potential have been created. This is technical basis for development of UWB radars for remote object sounding. The paper gives special attention to analysis of investigation results of methods for detection and recognition of remote radar objects at sounding by high-power UWB pulses. To detect UWB signals at the noise and interference background, an approach based on the joint use of matched filtering and inter-period correlation processing is suggested. A genetic function method and parametric methods were developed for object recognition. Compression of the data bank is of importance in the latter methods.
