Abstract :
As forest was considered as one of the most important and indispensable resources, the prevention and detection of forest fire have been hotly researched in worldwide Forest Fire Prevention Departments. Wireless sensor network (WSN) as a new technology of information acquisition and processing, has important strategic significance to improve the level of detection of the forest fire. Sensor nodes are the basic unit and the basic platform of wireless sensor networks. When wireless sensor network technology was applied to forest fire monitoring, the deficiency of real-time and accuracy characters of the conventional monitoring methods can be remedied perfectly. In this paper, the architecture of monitoring and detection system of forest fire based on wireless sensor network was introduced in detail, and the hardware circuits of the coordinator node and the relegate function node, the two main types node in wireless sensor network, were designed out, moreover, the software of the communication between the two kinds of nodes, and between the coordinate node and the mobile phone was developed systematically. Thus some environment parameters in the forest region such as the temperature, the humidity, can be monitored real-timely and be sent by the way of short messages to mobile phones timely. Then based on these gathered information, right decisions can be made in time by governmental department for fire-extinguishing or fire prevention.
