Transportation Demand Management (TDM) is a set of services and policies aiming at balancing the supply and demand of transportation system. Among various TDM measures staggered work hours, congestion pricing and high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes are three effective ones. Through elaborating the current research and practice of the three measures in China, adaptabilities of each of the three were analyzed. The research showed that the measure of staggered work hours is suitable for middle-sized cities, the measure of congestion pricing is a fine choice for urban area of megacities and the measure of high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes has great potential in China in the future.
