Abstract :
This paper proposes the application of SNMP (simple network management protocol) to industrial networks. With this approach, a standard method is used to access these networks which can be monitored/managed remotely using a stable, well-known protocol. More than a protocol for managing networks, SNMP is seen as a tool for managing and monitoring industrial processes and a standard interface between those networks and the outside world
