  • Abstract
In allusion to a new type of converter topology structure-Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC), in order to achieve MMC grid-connected fast and accurately, deadbeat control method combined with a variation of SPWM technology was applied to control MMC. A model of MMC was built with MATLAB/simulink, simulations that MMC connected to grid based on deadbeat control had been done, and its results were compared with the results of ordinary PID controlling MMC. The comparison results show that dynamic performance of the MMC grid-connected system controlled by deadbeat is better than that controlled by ordinary PID, the output current of the former system can track the phase of grid voltage more quickly and accurately and realize grid-connected power factor of 1.
