Abstract :
Based on the study of the drawback of traditional wired automatic control system and current wireless remote monitoring system for Modbus, and the utilization of a Uniform Wireless OPC DA Server, a new solution to construct a wireless OPC DA server for Modbus was given out. It used mobile communication networks and OPC technology. Also, Modbus request command strategy was discussed detailed. It reduced the data bytes transferred through mobile communication network when refreshing OPC DA objects, thus, lowered the running cost and eased the mobile network´s burden. Dynamic programming was introduced to work out the command strategy; recursion was used to implement the strategy. By using the solution, a low-running-cost wireless Modbus monitoring application can be built conveniently using an OPC-supported visual configuration software tools.
