Abstract :
One of the challenges of HSS (Home Service Systems), a service provisioning system over the network systems in a house, is to provide high quality of services while keeping the human-machine interaction simple and ease. This article proposes a model and design methodology of continuous service provisioning over the HSS. We propose the model by integrating the ideas of ambient intelligence and SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) with considering the nature of service provisioning in the house, where the multiple services need to be coordinated across rich and changing context along with the movement of people. The continuous service provisioning is to provide services over a virtual space onto a set of physical spaces in a house. It is particularly interesting due to the rich interactions among diverse services along with movement of people and change of surrounding environment. We propose a design methodology to enable continuous service provisioning across the service spaces over the HSS, and demonstrate the effectiveness of the methodology with a prototype of the HSS.
