Abstract
A multiple-function instrument for medical treatment is described in this paper. A special type microstrip antenna is adopted. The radiations of micromave and laser beams are merged into a single direction to stimulate the acupuncture points of human body. These two kinds of radiations work in coordination with each other, so that the curative effect is notable. The instrument is composed of a He-Ne laser, a laser beam which is called "light needle", a microwave generator, and a ring type microstrip antenna which merges the microwave and laser energy into one. Since microwave-laser beam technique has no pain effect in clinical practice, it has some advantages over the traditional "silver needle". Therefore this kind of medical instrument is of practical values.
