Abstract
This paper addresses the problems of complexity and information imperfection associated with catchment hydrology. A grey system approach is proposed as a possible method to overcome these difficulties. A simple example, namely, the modelling of catchment nonlinear runoff, is given to illustrate a preliminary explanation of the application of this method
