Abstract
To expanse the share of the global markets, manufacturers of capital goods have to secure a high customer closeness. Customer closeness means not only a quick service support if problems occur. The rising complexity of capitol goods and technological processes forces the efficient support of the manufacturer along the whole product life cycle. Global markets also call for customer closeness over long geographical distances between customer, manufacturer and supplier. With conventional tools, one can only fit cost intensive demands with a number of restrictions. Efficient internal organisation structures and external enterprise spread engineering networks combined with modern information and communication-tools can provide solutions for high customer closeness over long distances
