Abstract :
This paper discussed the potentials of interactive functional simulation with virtual prototypes based on an industrial example. To overcome existing problems in simulation and interaction, tools were developed. A special editor for functional definitions has been created and is presented. Further an alignment algorithm for support of interaction in VR was developed and is outlined. The architecture of the software environment is presented and briefly discussed
