Abstract :
The authors present self-commutated power converter based FACTS controller installations which demonstrate the functional flexibility and performance superiority of this approach and indicate that this technology can provide the means for rigorous control and precise optimization of electric power transmission, and thereby for a greatly increased utilization of power system assets
