Abstract :
The data warehousing has been around for about two decades now, and there have been many forces that have shaped the evolution of information architecture to DW 2.0 environment, defined as the next-generation data warehouse architecture. Recognized the life cycle of data with the DW 2.0, versioning mechanism became an important research issues. The purposes of versioning management for various data sectors in DW 2.0 are described, the basic requirements of schema version are discussed, and then a metadata meta-model with version is proposed to support presenting, controlling and comparing versions evolution. In prototype, the functionality with preserving the consistency of metadata repository is shown, based on structural integrity algorithm.
