Abstract :
In this paper, we show how the optimal sampling intervals for each state of the local clock time interval error (TIE) model may be determined employing the unbiased FIR filtering algorithm. An applied software is proposed being written on the languages such as C and Visual Basic. The structure of the algorithm is discussed along with the time-diagrams. It is shown that the unbiased FIR filter is used in GPS-based measurements to suppress the sawtooth noise induced by the GPS timing receiver owing to the principle of the 1 PPS signal formation. We use the local crystal clock imbedded to the Stanford Frequency Counter SR620. The measurements are provided using the SynPaQ III GPS Sensor as a timing receiver and the rubidium clock (SR625) as a reference source of time for the crystal clock.
