Abstract :
Many processes in materials science for the improvement of the technological properties of materials are done without control and regulation. So often it happens, that the treatment results are not acceptable. The influence of unknown and uncontrolled process parameters or changed circumstances are responsible for the bad results. There is especially for the thermochemical processes as nitriding, nitrocarburising, carburising and annealing a great demand for sensors to control the process parameter and also the workpiece properties during treatment. In our contribution the newly developed sensors are presented. On the one side there are the high temperature gas sensors for measuring the atmosphere composition and on the other side high temperature eddy current sensors up to 1000°C control the change of materials properties during treatment
