Abstract :
A closed circuit boom energy recovery system was proposed to decrease the installed power and energy consumption in Hydraulic Excavators. The energy saving principle was discussed using the accumulator for hydraulic counterweight, the mathematical models of hydraulic system were established based on its working principal, and the working status of the main power elements including the boom cylinder velocity, the accumulator, and load in the energy recovery system were simulated under typical working cycle present, Theory analysis and simulation results showed boom energy-saving system with closed circuit runs steadily, it has important significance for installed power reduction of Hydraulic Excavators.
