  • Abstract
The paper presents an integration of planning concepts and tools into an operation procedure of the distribution network supported by SCADA. The integration is achieved by two cooperating self-supporting applications: the MCE900-SCADA program and GREDOS-software package for the distribution network planning analysis. GREDOS supports the GIS environment and contains advanced calculation modules for the network operation analysis, optimal reswitching of the MV distribution network and reliability analyses. These modules perform the best solution for the back-up supply in case of the line outage or calculates the most favorable network reliability structure by the not supplied energy criteria. The integration of the two commonly used operational and planning software products in a Slovenian distribution utility provides an effective tool for automated operation. It is realized according to deterministic criteria (voltage drops, technical restrictions of elements), probabilistic criteria (expected not supplied electricity, time duration, frequency of outages) and common network state visualization in GIS for both planning and operation applications
