  • Abstract
The ISO standard of quality assurance presupposes fixed requirement specification, document driven system development, a waterfall system development model, and a technical view of quality. Previous research has indicated five aspects of quality that should be considered: technical, use, aesthetic, symbolic, and ethic. Unreflected use of ISO 9000 does not assure fulfilment of the non-technical aspects. ISO 9000 can therefore be a step back from evolutionary system development to former ideals of the waterfall model. Techniques to remedy this problem are proposed.<>
