Abstract :
In this paper a research on the application of advanced manufacturing technology, including reverse engineering (RE), rapid prototyping (RP) and virtual reality (VR) techniques and so on, in modern product design is developed. Firstly this article tries to analysis the formation and its characters of advanced manufacturing technique nowadays. Then it turns to research on the relations between advanced manufacturing technology and modern product design in subsequent paragraph. Finally it emphasizes on the application of the new technique in modern product design process, such as creation methods, manufacturing process and sales market ways and the relevant areas. In the end we conclude that it¿s possible to shorten product development cycle and realize the design innovation with advanced manufacturing technique.
