Abstract :
Uniplanar compact electromagnetic bandgap is used surrounding the radiation patch of microstrip antenna to reduce the antenna´s RCS. The center frequency of the microstrip antenna is 3.3GHz. The plane wave is normal incident. Compared with the patch antenna without the surrounding periodic UC-EBG, the patch antenna with the UC-EBG has much lower RCS. Meanwhile, gain, bandwidth and radiation patterns of the latter are kept when compared with those of the former.
