Abstract :
An experimental investigation of the interference from signals of ultra wideband impulse radio (UWB-IR) to the existing wireless local area network (WLAN) systems is described. Transceivers of WLAN systems such as IEEE 802.11 b/g were emulated by a signal generator and a signal analyzer programmed by emulation software. UWB-IR signals were generated with an arbitrary waveform generator or a pulse forming network. They were connected with coaxial wires and UWB-IR signals were inserted with an analog signal combiner. The interference was estimated using the error vector magnitude. The effectiveness of a band pass filter to suppress the interference was also demonstrated.
