Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a new way to design a spherical conformal array antenna using the idea of transformation optics. Based on electromagnetic source transformation, a physically linear array antenna can be transformed into a spherical conformal array antenna. Simulation results verify the realization of a spherical conformal array antenna with particular directivity through beam shaping to the corresponding linear array antenna. The research in this paper puts forward a novel method in simplifying the design of the conformal array antenna.
