Abstract :
It proposed a new pulse waveform design method for Ultra Wideband (UWB) telecommunication system which has to coexist with some other narrowband systems by introducing the idea of spectrum sensing in cognitive radio (CR) techniques. Itpsilas described briefly the approximate prolate spheroidal wave functions (APSWF) which had good property of fast processing and adjustable spectral notch which satisfied both the power emission mask of FCC and the coexistence of CUWB (Cognitive UWB) systems with others. Simulation with typical parameters showed that it would have ideal performance to adopt the new pulse waveform design. The performance of APSWF with different time width and bandwidth is also discussed in this paper when facing with multiple interferences.
