Abstract
This paper is a review of the available methods of microwave circuit analysis and will concentrate on non-linear networks as linear networks are considered a sub-class of general non-linear networks. Recent developments include the analysis of chaotic circuits and extrapolation techniques in the time domain steady state analysis. The problems of yield optimisation and cost minimisation is now recognised as an integral part of any CAD procedure and the principles of yield optimisation are outlined. Speed is an essential part of any CAD procedure development if more sophisticated analysis and optimisation are to be carried out. A new method of analysis based on parallel processing promises to make a considerable reduction in computing time and thus allow analysis and optimisation to be carried out on personal computers.
