Abstract :
Two algorithms are presented for a time-domain analysis of a switching convertor which is replaceable with a piecewise-linear system. One of these algorithms is for the transient state analysis and the other is for the steady-state analysis. Both algorithms use eigenvalue and eigenvector calculations of the matrix. By using these algorithms, the analysis can be carried out more rapidly and accurately than the existing analyses using standard fixed or variable step-size integration methods. This is demonstrated in a Cuk convertor analysis by comparing the results of the proposed method with those of a Hamming method (a variable-step integration method), and SPICE2.<>
