Abstract :
There are many kinds of over-voltage and the reasons for these are different. At present, the only way to analyze the over voltage data are relying on production and technical personnel, who analyze it rely on experience and the time, amplitude, frequency of over-voltage waveform. But sometime the over-voltage can´t be determined only according to these parameters. This paper simulated several common internal over-voltage by ATP-EMTP and proposed to calculate the fractal dimension of over-voltage signal waveform according to fractal theory for the first time, Calculating the fractal dimension from the simulation result. The simulation and fractal dimension calculation result showed that: the fractal dimension of the same kind over-voltage existed in a certain range, the ranges of fractal dimension were different if the over-voltage were different.
