Abstract :
In order to avoid annulment of the traffic control system and enhance traffic performance of it, lately people bring forwards the topic of the division and intergration of traffic control subzones. And the paper is based on the topic. At first, the paper illustrates the meaning of division of traffic control subzones, then it categorizes all the division rules and decides to make the distance+cycle rule as the resort of division rule in the paper. The essay utilizes the cycle rule to select a certain intersection as the probing intersection of a subarea, at the same time, it establishes a probing model based on the cycle and divides the subareas with the help of the cycle principle. And at last paper simulates the division process based on 9 intersections with the VISSIM. after division of distance+cycle principle, the average queuing length of every intersection reduces 35.8% compared with isolated control strategy, the average delay of every intersection reduces 41 % compared with isolated control strategy.
