Abstract :
This paper presents a dual PWM method for the three-level IGBT converter to drive an induction motor. A VMEbus based multi-CPU hardware platform is depicted in detail. This structure has the following merits: high performance in industry application, flexible control, easy to handle different traction system with the single bus. By applying the space vector control method to dual-PWM three-level converter system, we can minimize both input and output current harmonics, get unity input power factor and retain the DC link voltage balance. The principle of the proposed PWM method and the control method of flux orientation are discussed in detail. Computer simulation results verified the former method on a prototype of one three-level IGBT system with 5 kHz
