Abstract
This paper focusing on ground target, using variety of emission polarization and virtual polarization synthesis receive mode, obtain the full-polarimetric HRRP and extract polarization scattering matrix. Then, applying Cloude and Freeman decomposition on it to achieve scattering entropy H, average scattering angle α and three scattering mechanisms, involving canopy scatter, first-order Bragg surface scatter, and a double-bounce scattering mechanism. We apply these methods to fully polarimetric radar data from a classical dihedral in ground clutter and get the ideal results, i.e. the target is recognized in both algorithms. Therefore, there is no doubt that target decomposition(TD) theorems offer great potential in detecting and recognizing targets under the ground clutter.
