Abstract :
In order to be ready to answer power requirements, TTE have qualified Ku band TWTs operating up to 220 W and are developing a 300 W Ku-band and a 200 W Ka-band TWT. Regarding the frequency, TTE have also developed a space TWT operating at 60 GHz aiming at intersatellite links, where they are in competition with optical links. Since the RF link does not need sophisticated tracking systems they have a good chance to be used in future. In the following, we address the themes related to the 60 GHz helix type space TWT.
