Abstract :
This paper describes the Italsat satellite digital communication network which will start to be integrated with the italian terrestrial telephonic network during the preoperational phase commencing in 1991. In the following operational phase the system will provide up to 24.000 telephonic circuits or services (data, videoconferences, digital TV).
