Abstract :
Due to Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) limited in data sharing and difficult to achieve integration in data processing, an urban basic traffic management system based on geographic information system (GIS) is designed aiming at handling the road and traffic information for urban traffic police lochus. In this paper, On the basis of the analysis of function demand, system data demand and network environment, a general frame of the system was designed. As an important component of ITS, the system enjoys the functions such as the conventional functions of the electronic maps, basic traffic information maintenance and inquiry, and data sharing with other transportation systems. The application of the system based on GIS has very important significance for improving the work efficiency and traffic information sharing level in basic traffic management.
