Abstract :
In this paper, a speed sensorless algorithm for a high-speed induction motor drive is proposed. To control the high-speed motor, a high control frequency is required; it is difficult to achieve high performance with a conventional controller. The proposed control algorithm uses a simple estimation method and an intelligent controller. The rotor speed is estimated by integrating the deviation between the command current value of the controller and the real current value of the motor. A neural network speed estimator is applied to estimate rotor speed without a speed sensor and a fuzzy speed controller replaces the conventional controller for high-speed motor drives. To implement the speed sensorless high-speed induction motor drives, the proposed control system adopts a DSP (TMS320C31) and a voltage source inverter
