Abstract
Recent advances in the study of subwavelength localization and guiding of light in metal-dielectric structures demonstrate promising applications of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) for a design of nanoscale integrated optical circuits. The ability to dynamically tune and control the SPP properties is of a key importance for the future applications of plasmonic devices. Utilizing nonlinear properties of plasmonic waveguides is an attractive approach for controlling light propagation at the nanoscale.
