Abstract :
A 2:1 multiplexer (MUX) has been realised in a 1μm self-aligned silicon bipolar technology, operating with a maximum data rate of 14 GBit/s. The chip measures 0.42 × 0.42 mm2 and dissipates 280 mW with a 5 V supply. To the authors´ knowledge, this is the highest data rate ever reported for multiplexers in silicon.
