Abstract :
The emergence of switched reluctance motors (SRMs) in commercial applications has spurred immense scrutiny of the apparent problems they face with regard to acoustic noise. This work attempts to survey the current research status on noise and vibrations in SRMs. A clear perspective is given on existing literature, various sources of noise in SRMs, and proposed solutions. The inadequacies of current knowledge in this field are described and new research directions are proposed
