Abstract
The use of Borland´s Turbo-Pascal version 4.0 to perform power system analysis involving mathematical operations on complex numbers is discussed. The Turbo-Pascal Unit (TPU) and structured record variable type are used to produce a library of program code CMATH.PAS that can be utilized by any program needing to operate on complex numbers. The results of the functions and procedures in CMATH are transferred back to the main program via the use of pointer type variables that contain the memory address of the actual complex number results. An application program illustrating the use of CMATH.TPU is included. The example program gives descriptions of each of the operations and functions included in the TPU CMATH
