Abstract
The relativistic magnetron has a water coolant jacket for the anode block and the graphite cathode to withstand the high temperatures. In addition such a cathode has low threshold of explosive emission plasma formation and long lifetime. The resonant system of the magnetron is adapted to the operation conditions with a linear induction accelerator like voltage source. The output microwave radiation is extracted from the magnetron through the coupling slot of one of the anode block cavities, smooth tapered waveguide and pyramidal antenna.
