Abstract :
An improved mode-matching technique is developed for the efficient CAD of waveguide stepped components. The method is applied to the design of a modified type of phase shifter using both E- and H-plane steps. The latters allow more compact structures to be obtained. Experiments as well as theoretical computations based on conventional approaches demonstrate the validity of the method proposed.
