Abstract
The authors report on the successful loading of an optical dipole trap at 1064 nm a prerequisite for a future Mg optical lattice clock operated on the strictly forbidden 1S0 -3P0 transition. The authors reached trapping of about 105 Mg-24 atoms in the 3P0 state.
