Abstract
In the new genetic code chessboard representation, the 1st nucleotide of triplet codons is assigned to each of the four quadrants; the 2nd nucleotide to each of the 16 subquadrants; and the 3rd nucleotide to the 8times8 = 64 cells of the chessboard, following in all cases the same clockwise ordering C-U-G-A. The result is an easily constructed and visualized representation of the genetic code that can be remembered by means of a mnemogram.
