Abstract
Light scattering on magnetostatic waves (MSW) in yttrium-iron garnet(YIG) films in inhomogeneous magnetic fields was studied experimentally. Both collinear and orthogonal configurations of light interactions with surface (MSSW) and backward volume (MSBVW) waves in longitudinal and transverse inhomogeneous magnetic fields were considered. The advantages of inhomogeneous magnetizing fields application in magnetooptic microwave deflectors and spectrum analyzers are discussed.
