Abstract :
The paper presents a new type of combined magnetoelastic force and torque measuring transducer. The magnetoelastic principle of operation has been used due to the mechanical simplicity of such a transducer. The shape of magnetic core and the configuration of exciting and sensing windings have been chosen to minimize the cross-sensitivity between force measuring system and torque measuring system. However the total independence of these two systems has not been achieved. Therefore, a special microcomputer program has been developed in order to introduce the numerical correction of the results
