Abstract
This paper analyzes the performance of carrier interferometry/orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CI/OFDM) in the presence of multipath fading as well as jamming. Specifically, the effect of jamming power and jammer bandwidth on the performance of CI/OFDM and OFDM is investigated. While CI/OFDM significantly outperforms traditional OFDM in a fading environment, we demonstrate that OFDM is more resistant to single-tone jamming than CI/OFDM. Furthermore, OFDM is more robust when jamming power increases although CI/OFDM is more robust when the bandwidth of the jammer increases. We also show that by employing frequency-domain anti-jamming techniques, it is possible to restore the performance gains offered by CI/OFDM relative to traditional OFDM.
