  • Abstract
The ability of design expression is the necessary skill of an industrial designer. It can help him to produce design inspiration, transmit design ideas and make design communication. The design expression process mainly includes two parts. One is the process of showing the design image from designer¿s ¿invisible¿ ideas to ¿visible¿ form. It shows the designer¿s invisible inspiration and ideas by visible specific form. Another is the process from ¿visible¿ form to audience¿s ¿invisible¿ impression. In this process, the invisible design idea is transmitted to the audiences by visible specific form. The two parts are both independent and linked mutually. They are one dialectical unity. Overall, the whole process of design expression is a circulatory system from ¿invisible¿ to ¿visible¿ and then to ¿invisible¿. In this process, modern industrial designers should pursuit unremittingly that the audience¿s ¿invisible¿ view is consistent with the designer¿s ¿invisible¿ idea by various ¿visible¿ forms.
