Abstract :
This paper describes the new Litton L-6026 Hobetron current-regulating switch tube. It has been demonstrated that experimental results are in excellent agreement with computer predictions, and that power loss through the L-6026 is only 1/5 that of the L-5097 MIG type switch tube. The paper also discusses a 50 megawatt, efficient, relatively compact, 70 MHz Hobetron-Plus based power amplifier design for the Muon Collider.
