Abstract
The rapid development of industrial design education in our country brings us a lot of problems. We should realize that many potential unstable factors are hidden in the development. In order to solve these problems and to provide useful experience for our industrial design education as a reference, this article is concerned with observation of the industrial design education overseas. And it makes a comparison of the differences between Chinese and foreign countries, such as the education system, cultivation goals, curriculum system, faculty structure, and other areas. The existed problems of industrial design education in china are pointed out and are explained in details by the comparison with western countries. At the end, some recommendations are given by author.
